With some encouragement from some of my CZM cohorts, I entered The Canyon Module for judging in the Individual Module category at the 2015 National Train Show in Portland, Oregon.

The winery building and house landscaping

Here we are at the February 2012 WGH on Tour show in Portland and as can be seen here, the winery building has been installed and the area around the owner's house has been landscaped.

Can't have a winery without a source of wine grapes.  The Canyon Top Vineyards finally get planted in a plot that has been cultivated along the canyon edge and is reinforced by a retaining wall.

The bridge gets its support

While we've able to run many a train across the canyon bridge without it, a construction crew finally got funded to address this weakness :0).   Fact is, not having the support pier installed made it a lot easier to work in the canyon during its scenic development but now that that is essentially done, the pier was needed to complete the bridge.

Lower falls flow and enhanced river details

A couple of months have past and just back from another train show event in Portland.  In preparation for that event, some significant work on the river in the canyon and of course, finally getting the lower falls flowing as seen in these images captured at the show.

Canyon walls essentially complete

The rock structures within the canyon are now fully colored and plantings are growing in the areas where seeds were able to take root.

Upper falls matures

Most of the year has passed since the last posting.  Throughout the year, the canyon walls have increased in detail and the upper falls area has matured as well.  The views in these photos share some of that progress.

Started working on the water surface above the upper falls.  Here you can see the result after an initial pour of the Magic Water resin over a pre-stained river surface.
