Building the rock piers across the inlet.

To get the mainlines across The Forest End inlet, rock foundations are used to partially bridge the inlet rather than a long suspension bridge.

Built of individual stones and course gravel, the process includes a series of layers each glued in place using a thinned mixture of Woodland Scenics scenic glue, the thinning only enough to allow the glue to readily flow into the cracks - essentially the same as using a watered down white glue.

Layer by layer, the formation gets taller, allowing the glue to dry between layers and using the course gravel as back fill and serve as a good binding material for the larger stones to set into.

Each pier is capped by concrete bridge support foundations and the final bridge installation and laying of the track will happen later after the inlet water surface is completed.
