Very early on I indicated that our module group decided that we would support two different height standards for operating our layout. The photo to the right shows our first actual use of our lower alternate height of 35 inches. The situation was that we were invited to show at a retirement community and some of our visitors would be wheelchair bound and our lower layout height was just great for those visitors to view the layout at just the right perspective.
In this view you can see the canyon module to the left as connected to my daughter's 30 degree bend module. Just in view is a just completed build-up of a horse barn, this barn being a custom kit made available to me from laser-cutting master Robert Ray. I was quite impressed with the quality and ease of assembly, and this was accomplished with only a limited set of instructions along with a couple of photos that Robert sent me by email. For more info on Robert's kits and other Z-scale activities, don't hesitate to visit his website: http://raybob.boche.net/.
Here are a couple more pictures of the barn. Shown to the right is the barn surrounded by a small herd of cows and with a few horses wandering around. No work has been done to clear the final site for the barn and to build up a companion farm house ... actually I don't my daughter is quite sure yet of where she wants the final farm site. The other photo gives another perspective of the barn taken in a different setting
