Mainlines installed and operational

Bradley Saunders
December 29, 2016

With a train show on the near horizon (Jan 21/22 - WGH on Tour in Seattle), pressure is on to get this new module operational.  Over the last two days, I installed both mainlines and have them running solely through track connections back to the Canyon Module.

An unexpected change in the plan

Bradley Saunders
December 9, 2016

Stemming from a comment made by one of my CZM mates, the initial foam work of one section of the module has been completely torn out and replaced to allow for an unplanned feature to be added.

Thinking more about the trestle bridge

Bradley Saunders
December 5, 2016

After doing some research, I've started to draw out scale plans for the trestle bridge that will enable the logging branch line to cross a 250 foot span over the mainlines in the area of "Shallow Canyon".  This bridge will be entirely scratch built using bass wood with modified Micro Trains flex track incorporated into the bridge's deck.

Adding foundations for the track

Bradley Saunders
November 13, 2016

With the modules all temporarily mounted together, I'm now focusing on adding the foundations for the tracks runs.  This is where it gets interesting as I can play around a bit with the layout design before finalizing the routes by glueing down the foam bases.

Making Framing Progress

November 6, 2016

Finally getting back to framing up the new modules, I've essentially built up five of the six sections and I'm about to add legs and connect them up.

Construction begins!

Bradley Saunders
August 1, 2016

With the initial distraction (:o) of creating the ZTM-440 modules in time for a recent train show now past (see General Notes), I've finally started to construct the individual sections that will make up the Forest End module.

The Forest End Introduction

Bradley Saunders
March 12, 2016

With the need to have a complete modular layout for exhibitions and use at home, this new project is for the module that will be at the opposite end from The Central End module.
