One of the major features of the Forest End Module will be its lumber mill and its time to start building it up.
My original plan was to steal the lumber mill project from my P&W Railroad layout but eventually I decided it was not large enough for the space I planned to use. A second factor in this decision was that I also have an N-scale lumber mill kit that I had never built for the layout I was building prior to switching to Z-scale modeling … it was the N-Scale Architect Long Valley Lumber mill which I soon discovered was also available in Z-scale :o).
Here is the partially-built mill placed on the layout to help visualize how it will fill the space.
