The Forest Module gets a bit of a showing

Its the January 2020 Great Train Expo in Portland, Oregon and The Forest Module along with The Canyon Module get some show time as a pair.

This is a view of the section where the end of the branch line will terminate in a logging industry - the partially built lumber mill is in view (along with that crew housing building which has yet to find a home ;o). The now complete mini loop is operating with a Portland & Western engine pulling a short consist of log cars - this separate loop runs at a fairly slow pace to help bring some life to this side of the module while there is no action in the lumber industry.

Moving clockwise around the module, you might note that these sections haven’t progressed much with the exception of some newly planted trees in an area that was landscaped while at this show as part of a live demonstration. The newly worked area was bare down to the plaster cloth so the demonstration included surface preparation along with the tree plantings.

Continuing around, we reach the more developed side of the module although you can tell that large area portions are essentially just set aside for now as I consider some ideas for how these will be developed.
